Shirley Reed Obituary

Williamsport, MD – Shirley L. (Gift) Reed, 72, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at home with her family by her side.

 

She was born on February 6, 1946 and was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Thelma Irene Thomas Gift.

 

Shirley was a 1964 graduate of Clear Spring High School Clear Spring, MD.

 

She retired in 2012, from the Washington County Board of Education Food Services Division after 35 years of service.

 

Shirley loved yard sales, card games, dancing with her shoes off, talking on the phone for hours, and spending time with her family and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles Donald “Don” Reed, her sister Helen “Dolly” Cecile (Gift) Keeney, and a stepson, Rick Alan Reed.

 

She is survived by her sons, Brian Banzhoff, husband of Aleesa, Michael Banzhoff, boyfriend of Anna Miles, her stepdaughters, Teresa (Reed) Barron, wife of Randy, Cindy (Reed) Fisher, wife of Perry, grandchildren, Jason Banzhoff, husband of Tirsa, Bradley Banzhoff, Christina Stewart, Blake Barron, Misty Barron, Carrie (Fisher) Craytor, wife of Dan, Perry “Chip” Fisher, III, Hannah McCarty, “Adopted” grandchild Westly Jackson, 6 great grandchildren, and her favorite bartender, Chris Rose.

 

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.

 

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jason Banzhoff officiating at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
