W. Jean Berger

Smithsburg, MD – W. Jean Berger, 78, of Smithsburg, MD passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at her home.

She was born on August 4, 1939 in High Point, NC to the late John Elias and Ida Mae Dixon Goodyear.

She was a 1958 graduate of South Hagerstown High School of Hagerstown, MD.

She was a Homemaker.

Jean was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Leitersburg, MD.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years N. Dean Berger; daughter Tammy Bradley and her husband Doug of Keedysville, MD; daughter Deana Cordell and her husband Rick of Greencastle, PA; grandchildren Jennifer Pepper and her husband Joe of Myersville, MD and Danielle Grosh and her wife Daphene of Mont Alto, PA; great grandchildren Braden, David, and Jaiden.  She is also survived by a step grandson Nick Cordell and his family of Illinois.

Jean was predeceased by a sister Mary Lantz and two brothers James Dixon and David Goodyear.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.

Services and burial will be private.
