William Ridings "Bill" Welch

Williamsport, MD – William Ridings “Bill” Welch, 90, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on October 5, 1927 in Jefferson County, West Virginia to the late James Ridings and Lula Mae Miller Welch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean Shackelford Welch in 2002.

Bill was employed by the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV for 27 years retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church Williamsport, MD.

Bill was the last surviving member of his 13 siblings.

He is survived by his daughter Barbara Seibert and her husband Stephen Kropelin of Frostburg, MD; son David W. Welch and his wife Terica; grandson Paul Matthew Seibert and his wife Kristen of Richmond, VA; granddaughter Dr. Gretchen Seibert and her husband Tom Kozikowski of Frostburg, MD; granddaughter Brooklyn Welch; granddaughter Hannah Welch; 4 great granddaughters; 1 great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Sunday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Bennett officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
