Amelia Davis Obituary

Sharpsburg, MD – Amelia G. “Pansy” Davis, 99, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Greenfield Senior Living at Hagerstown, MD.

 

She was born on February 13, 1919 in Hagerstown, MD to the late George Harrison and Hilda May Delauney Mose.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Warren Miller “Woodpecker” Davis in April 2000.

 

She was a 1938 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

 

Pansy was employed in Washington County for years as a Private Duty Nurse.  She was previously employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, MD and worked out of Moller Pipe Organ Building during the second World War and McCroy’s 5 & 10 in downtown Hagerstown.

 

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Lappans, MD.

 

She was also a member of Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas of the IORM Tribe #84 Williamsport, MD and Antietam Post #236 Auxiliary American Legion Sharpsburg, MD.

 

Pansy enjoyed playing bingo and spending time at the Charles Town Casino.

 

She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Eichelberger and her husband Joe of Sharpsburg, MD; stepdaughter Judith A. Hartle of Hagerstown, MD;; grandson J.W. Eichelberger and his wife Cheryl of Sharspburg, MD; granddaughter Kimberly A. Marshall and her companion Curt Cole of Sharpsburg, MD; grandson Chuck Eichelberger and his wife Nancy of Hagerstown, MD; great grandchildren Kelsey, Megan, Paige, Philip, McKenzie, and Cameryn; 2 great great grandchildren; niece Kendra Rohrer Harmon of Keedysville, MD.

 

She was predeceased by two sisters JoAnnette Kretzer and Ada Alverda Rohrer and an infant brother Donald Mose.

 

Private services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the interment following in the adjoining cemetery.
