Hagerstown, MD – Andrew Luther Wallech, Sr., 77, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on December 21, 1942 in Huyetts, Maryland to the late Emmert Bertrum Sr. and Araminta Ethel Knott Wallech.
He was a 1960 graduate of North Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.
Andrew was employed by Kane Trucking in Hagerstown, MD as a Dockworker and Yard Jockey until his retirement. He was previously employed by Ryder-Pie Trucking.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #992.
Andrew loved sports and was heavily involved with the Hagerstown Pony League and Colt League. He loved going to car shows and was a member of the Hub City Cruisers.
He loved his grandchildren and was a loving husband, father, and brother.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Nancy L. Wallech; son Andrew L. Wallech, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Falling Waters, WV; son Tom Wallech and his wife Kathy of Hagerstown, MD; son Denny Wallech and his wife Krista of Hagerstown, MD; son Mark Wallech and his wife Sharie of Hagerstown, MD; sister Elizabeth Weaver of Smithsburg, MD; sister Kathy Whittington of Hagerstown, MD; sister Susy Fritz of Mercersburg, PA; sister Sharon McAfee of Hagerstown, MD; brother Nathan “Miller” Wallech of Hagerstown, MD; brother Joe Wallech of Greencastle, PA; brother Dave Wallech of Hagerstown, MD; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four brothers Emmert Wallech, Jr., Leon Wallech, Sr., Ralph Wallech, and Wayne Wallech, Sr.
The family will receive friend at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Services and burial will be private.
