Falling Waters, WV – Anita Jeanette Kriss, 79, of Falling Waters, WV passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Berkeley Medical Center Martinsburg, WV.
She was born on November 15, 1943, in Syracuse, NY to the late Arthur John Tessier and Lura Gertrude Fountain.
Anita volunteered at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport, MD until her retirement. She previously worked for the USPS as a rural carrier.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was very involved in the church and was a member of the choir.
Anita loved to sing and was a member of the Hagerstown Choral Arts.
She was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her husband, James Joseph Kriss, Jr. whom she married on October 14, 1979; son Buddy Kriss of Federalsburg, MD; daughter Jeanne Scharf (Jeff) of Ridgely, MD; daughter Cassie Reed (Andy) of Middleway, WV; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
Burial will be private.
