Audrey Payne Grove

Williamsport, MD – Audrey Payne Grove, 94, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Mertius Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on October 6, 1926 in Williamsport, MD to the late Charles Grafton Sr. and Virginia Edith Sharer Payne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Lee Grove June 1, 2011.  They were married in 1951.

Audrey was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD.

She was employed by G.A. Miller Lumber Company in Williamsport, MD until retiring in 1975.

In her early years, Audrey and her husband Maurice lived in Severna Park, MD and she was associated with a group of friends known as the “Sun Bums”.  They also enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay.

She was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD.  Her and her husband were both very active in the Methodist Churches both in Severna Park and Williamsport.

She is survived by a brother Charles G. “Griff” Payne, Jr. of Williamsport, MD; sister-in-law Dawn Ford; sister-in-law Betty Payne; her very closet friend Margie Reed; her godson Ashley Reed; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers Thomas A. Payne and William E. Ford; sister-in-law Nellie M. Payne; godson Robbie Reed.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
