Barbara Jean Sanders

Halfway, MD – Barbara Jean Sanders, 87, of Halfway, MD passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at her home.

She was born on July 2, 1933 in Fairplay, MD to the late Robert Cornelius and Martha Bowers Martin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leonard Sanders on March 24, 2008.  They were married for 57 years.

Barbara was previously employed with The Western Maryland Railroad in Hagerstown, MD and was a licensed Day Care Provider for many years.

She previously attended Downsville Christian Church in Downsville, MD.

Barbara enjoyed flowers and working in her garden.

She is survived by her son David A. Sanders and his wife Korby of Williamsport, MD; son Daryl L. Sanders and his wife Tracy of Hagerstown, MD; brother in law Gerald Holmes; niece Kim Holmes and her family; grandchildren Skyler Sanders and fiance’ Nick Carro, Jake Sanders, Allisa Sanders, and Collin Sanders ; step grandchildren Karley Hensley and Kendal Snyder; 8 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter Sue Ellen Sanders; sister Shirley Holmes; and her beloved pets Dusty and Buddie.

Private graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
