Betty Lorraine "Miss B" Munn

Hagerstown, MD – Betty Lorraine “Miss B” Munn, 72, of Hagerstown, MD entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven on March 31, 2020.  For Saint Peter’s sake, we hope the pearls are real and the line was short.

She was born on February 9, 1948 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Alvin “Trout” and Ruth Virginia Coppage Myers.

Betty is survived by her soulmate of 50+ years, Gerald L. Munn; daughter Wendy Layman and her husband Eddie of St. James, MD; son Greg Munn of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughter Sophie Butts; grandsons Graydon Munn, Griffin Munn, Tyler Layman and Shane Laymen; sister Mary Bowling of Stafford, VA; two brothers Charles Myers of Spotsylvania, VA and Michael Myers of Richmond, VA; many nieces, nephews, special friends and lots of kids she treated as her own.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Myers.

She attended St. James Brethren Church St. James, MD.

Betty had a big laugh and even bigger heart.  She never met a baby she didn’t adore, a dessert she wouldn’t finish or a hole she couldn’t fall into. 

She loved being the center of attention, which is helpful when you’re being extracted from a sewage ditch by a tow truck or knocking over the entire display of Stove Top.  Betty’s door was always open and, as drivers on Virginia Avenue will attest, so were her blinds. 

The world was far better with Betty in it.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, because if you knew Betty, you loved her.

The Munns will host a celebration of life when it is safe for everyone to gather.
