Williamsport, Maryland-Beverly Jean “Mimi” Long, 78 of Williamsport, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday February 18, 2021 at her home.
Born in Hagerstown, MD on May 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Ike” and Ethel Grove Shantz.
She was in the graduating class of 1960 in the new Boonsboro High School where she was labeled “Class Clown”.
She was a homemaker and previously worked for the Herald Mail and The Stationary House in Hagerstown, MD and Meadows Pottery in Rohrersville, MD.
Mimi was of the Christian faith and an active supporter of the Williamsport High School Blue Band and a member of the Coronado Ski Club in Williamsport, MD. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandsons.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years Thomas M. Long whom she married on September 26, 1961, a daughter Susan Garling and her husband Kyle of Williamsport, MD, a son David Long and his wife Karen of Hagerstown, MD, grandsons Devin Stitely, Grant Long and his wife Julie, Scott Long and Samuel Garling and a brother Charles “Tom” Shantz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Phyllis Thompson and Dorlene Styles.
There will be no viewing and burial is private,
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
