Williamsport, MD – Calvin Edward Truax, 91, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Sterling Healthcare at South Mountain in Boonsboro, MD.
He was born on August 27, 1929 in Thompson Township in Fulton County, PA to the late Callie Dalton and Ethel Mae Heitt Truax.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (Deneen) Truax on September 24, 2020.
Calvin was employed by Mack Trucks, Inc. in Hagerstown, MD for 25 years until retiring in 1987.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Hagerstown, MD.
Calvin was a member of Potomac Post #202 American Legion in Williamsport, MD; W.D. Byron Post #1936 VFW in Hagerstown, MD.
He is survived by a son David A. Truax of Winter Springs, FL; sister Leah Hamil of Ft. Loudon, PA; sister Della Shives of Mt. Airy, MD; sister in law Dodie Hull and her husband Paul whom helped to take care of Calvin and his wife Mary for many years of Berkeley Springs, WV.
He was predeceased by a son Calvin E. Truax, Jr. and a sister Frances Ruth Truax.
Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Lynn Munson officiating.
