Carolyn Exline Obituary

Sharpsburg, MD – Carolyn Elizabeth Exline, 63, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center.  Carolyn will be greatly missed by many lifelong and new friends.

She was born on October 10, 1959, in Hagerstown, MD to the late John Franklin Niswander and Carolyn Elizabeth (Carter) Sine.

Carolyn attended Boonsboro High School.

She was a Housewife and was a mother to three beautiful boys.

She was of the Seventh-Day Adventist Faith and attended Seventh-Day Adventist School.

Carolyn loved being outdoors with her husband and going metal detecting, hunting mushrooms, and ginseng.  One of her favorite things to do was to watch shooting stars late at night.  She also loved all her bird feeders; she could name every bird that came for a snack.  She even named our squirrels.  Even though she only had three sons, she was a mother figure to many more throughout the years, and she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Carolyn also enjoyed cooking for and with the family and enjoyed baking her famous chocolate chip cookies for everyone in town to enjoy. She was the most thoughtful and caring person and enjoyed helping others at every chance.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Richard “Babe” Exline; son Levi Exline; son Joel Exline and his wife Rachael; granddaughters Elsie and Indie, sister Kathy Breeden and her husband Ricky; brother David Niswander and his wife Cory; brother Eddie Tomlin; nephew Zachary, his wife Maegan and their son Holden.

She is also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son Joshua James; in-laws David and Marylee Exline; brother-in-law Rocky Exline; brother Eddie Niswander.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 12:00 (noon) on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.
