Charles Eugene "Gene" Anderson, Sr.

Williamsport, MD – Charles Eugene “Gene” Anderson, Sr., 86, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Williamsport Retirement Center Williamsport, MD.

He was born on October 26, 1932 in Halfway, MD to the late Samuel Isaac and Grace May Warrenfeltz Anderson.

Gene attended Williamsport Schools.

He was employed by M.P. Moller Pipe Organ of Hagerstown, MD for 43 years until retiring in 1992.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD.

He was a past member of IORM Tribe #84 Williamsport, MD, Mercersburg Moose Lodge, and Waynesboro Eagles Club.

Gene enjoyed gardening and working on cars.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Regina Shupp Anderson whom he married on August 9, 1986; daughter Connie E. Bowers and her husband Will of Williamsport, MD; daughter Cheryl J. Staley and her husband Gary of Chambersburg, PA; son Charles E. “Chuck” Anderson, Jr. and his fiancee’ Sylvia of Frederick, MD; son Kirk J. Anderson and his wife Laura of Williamsport, MD; son David B. Anderson and his wife Shirley of Winter Springs, FL; brother William M. Anderson of Hagerstown, MD; stepson Scott A. Roach and Susan of Hedgesville, WV; stepdaughter Sheri K. Roach of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter Kimberly S. Maye and her husband Lee of Lorton, VA; stepdaughter Tina M. Hargis and her husband Aaron of Norfolk, VA; 7 grandchildren Craig (Carrie), Dan (Alicia), Patrick (Evonne), Kara (John), Lindsay (Rob), Briar (Laura), and David; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson on the way; 6 step grandchildren Jared (Becky), Justin (Hannah), Tony, Cassidy (Will), Ali (Aaron), and Tyler; 6 step great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by five sisters Mary V. Deavers, Alice E. Hofe, Pauline M. Anderson, Ruth A. Daub, and Anna Mae Tressler.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 am with Clyde “Pete” Gaylor officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
