Sharpsburg, MD – Charles Edward “Butch” Canfield, 73, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away as a result of a vehicle accident along with his wife Carmen Lee (Snyder) Canfield on Friday, November 1, 2019.
He Married his wife Carmen Lee (Snyder) Canfield on July 23, 1965.
He was born on April 3, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Herbert Lloyd “Ike” and Freda Gertrude Clipp Canfield.
He was a 1964 graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, MD.
Butch was the owner and operator of Canfield’s Body Shop since 1976 in Sharpsburg, MD. He was also the owner and operator of CEC Sporting Goods in Sharpsburg, MD.
He was a lifetime member of Conococheague Sportsmen Club, Inc. in Sharpsburg, MD.
Butch enjoyed going to flea markets, loved his animals especially his dog “Kera”, hunting, spending time on his tractor making hay, and spending time with his grandson Ty.
He is survived by his daughter Denise Lee Canfield and her fiance’ Michael O. Stivers of Sharpsburg, MD; son Brian E. Canfield and his wife Michelle of Sharpsburg, MD and their son Ty and daughter Emma; sister J. Darlene Albritton and her husband Jim of Sharpsburg, MD; brother Arthur “Os” Canfield and his wife Tatie of Keedysville, MD.
He was predeceased by two sisters Joyce Canfield and Lorraine Schroyer and two brothers Carroll “Red” Canfield and William “Bill” Canfield.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. View Cemetery Sharpsburg, MD on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 am with Brother Brad Graybill officiating.
