Obituary
Williamsport, MD – Charles Hilton Himes, 85, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home.
He was born on March 5, 1938, in Weverton, MD to the late Joseph Lawrence and Clara F. (Keyser) Himes.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Yvonne Himes in 2022.
He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, MD.
He was employed by Supreme Concrete/United Concrete until his retirement.
He was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God in Hagerstown, MD.
Charles was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He enjoyed mowing and watching the Baltimore Orioles. Hel loved his wife and traveling companion, Arlene and they had many camping trips to Chincoteague, VA. He also loved watching and feeding the birds and squirrels at his home.
He is survived by his children Terry Robinson (Hagerstown), Donna Himes (Martinsburg), and Lawrence Himes (Skip) and wife Dani (Hagerstown); sister Sandy Jones and her husband William; grandchildren Jennifer Craighead (David), Kelly Mills, Amber Moore (Tommy), Kristin Mills, Jason Mills (Megan), Eddy (Bubba) Brandenburg, Ryan Himes, Justin Himes, and Angela Jackson (Lewis); great grandchildren Alexia Butler, Kahlil Butler, Madysen Barrett, Mason Smith, Morgan Smith, Makaya Smith, Tessa Kersh, Lewis Jackson, Jr., Isaiah Brandenburg, Jason Mills, Jr., Lorilei McMurry, Lucas Jackson, Landon Anders, and Zoe Brandenburg; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister Judith Himes Phillips and a son-in-law John W. Robinson, III.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Shawn Bushman officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
