Cheryl Lynn Eckard,62, passed peacefully in her home on Pawleys Island, SC with fiancé Brad by her side on November 27, 2023. 

Cheryl was born October 30, 1961, to Doris Ingle and the late Eugene Stout. Cheryl grew up on a farm in Taneytown, MD.  She moved to Hagerstown, MD where she would spend most of her remaining life.  She met her fiancé Bradley Myers in 2002 at her friend LuBeth’s Bluesfest Party in Hagerstown.  They retired in August 2020 to Pawleys Island, it was a dream come true.

Cheryl worked many years as a waitress at Nick’s Airport Inn, where she had a long list of regulars who asked for her by name. She was CEO and Owner of The Farmer’s Daughter, Owner of Cheryl Eckard Environmental Services LLC and CEO and co-owner of Pop Pop’s Kettle Corn. She and Brad could be seen their most weekends for nearly 8 years at the Funkstown Fire Hall parking lot. Cheryl offered her warmth and exuberance to all her customers and Brad would always add a joke.  She loved the beach, looking for seashells, cooking and 

gardening.  She was a self-described homebody. She was a life-long cat mom.

She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Buford Stout, her brother Eugene Ronald Stout and her special grandmother Evelyn A. Stout.

She is survived by her fiancé Bradley Myers of Pawleys Island, mother Doris Buccigrossi of Pawleys Island, niece Nadine Nelson, husband John and great nephews John III, Thomas and great niece Noradine all of Colorado Springs, CO, niece Katherina Elliott and husband Logan of Hagerstown MD several aunts and cousins. She is also survived by a multitude of grieving friends in the Hagerstown area as well as in Pawleys Island, where she was loved by many. She never had an unkind word and was a perpetual optimist. She saw the good in all people and all things. She was strong in her faith. She modeled human kindness, for which we all should strive.
