Darlene Jean Hoffman

Sharpsburg, Maryland-Darlene Jean Hoffman, 72 of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Friday April 2, 2021 at her home.

Born on May 15, 1948 in Leitersburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Leroy and Viola “Maggie” Hosler Slick.

She was a 1966 graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, MD.

She worked as a Medical Secretary at Washington County Hospital and Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD for many years until retirement.

Darlene was a member of Sharpsburg Bible Church in Sharpsburg, MD and was active with the Sisters in Christ church group, a member of American Legion Post# 236 Auxiliary in Sharpsburg, MD and spent many years with the Boy Scouts of America.  She had a passion for sewing and making crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Lawrence L. Hoffman, sons David W. Hoffman and his wife Yoko of Adamstown, MD and Daniel L. Hoffman of Martinsburg, WV, her loving grandchildren Caitlyn, Nathan, Megan, Patrick, Skyler, and Lukas, loving great grandchildren Mila and Roman and a brother Darrin Slick of Waynesboro, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers Robert “Bobby” Rutherford and Leroy Slick.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 6, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Tuesday at 9:00am.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at 11:00am at Sharpsburg Bible Church 5134 General Stuart Ct. Sharpsburg, MD with Pastor Gene Renner officiating.  Burial will follow at Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville, MD.
