Williamsport, MD – Dorothy “Dottie” Mullican, 95, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.
She was born on November 19, 1926 in Frederick, MD to the late George G. and Margaret Irene (Harrison) Englebrecht.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Mullican, Jr. in 1981.
Dottie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She was a 1943 graduate of Frederick High School in Frederick, MD and also attended Hood College and Mary Washington College.
Dottie was a charter member of the Friendship Homemakers Club, serving as President. She was also a member of Alpha Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, serving as President and on many committees during her active membership.
Dottie was employed by Washington County Public Schools as a Guidance Secretary until her retirement. Her interaction with the students were a joy to her. She previously was employed by W.F. Prior Company and Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of the Washington County Education Secretary Association and the Retired Teachers Association.
Dottie enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and playing cards with numerous groups. Her special love was dancing.
She is survived by her daughter Tawn Gelvin and her partner Cecil Brown; daughter Tina Miller and her husband Mike; granddaughters Whitney Reed and her husband Oren, Ashley Mullican, and Maggie Krzywicki and her husband Bobby; great grandsons Jared Dangerfield, Kyle Dangerfield, and Evan Krzywicki; great granddaughter Charlotte Krzywicki.
Dottie’s family and friends were always close to her heart.
She was predeceased by her sister Louise V. Englebrecht.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Duane Musgrave Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
