Douglas Brent Hicks

Hagerstown, MD – Douglas Brent “Doug” Hicks, 60, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at his home. 

He was born on March 26, 1963, in Indiana, Pennsylvania to Andrea Lee (Fostiak) Hicks of Indiana, PA and the late Ray Allen Hicks. 

Doug was a 1981 graduate of Indiana Area Senior High School.  After high school, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and later transferred to Indiana University of PA and graduated in 1986 with his Bachelor of Science degree. 

Throughout his life he was employed with Corning Inc., Trans Tech Inc., Patriot Technologies, and Infor. 

Doug loved volunteering in his community and helping others.  Whether it was serving food to the less fortunate or going on World Mission trips.  He was also instrumental in forming City Chapel in Hagerstown. 

He was formerly affiliated with FCF in Frederick, Harvest Life in Boonsboro, MD and was currently attending Tribe of Judah Word Ministry in Boonsboro, MD, Flowing Rivers in Greencastle, PA and Calvary Temple Williamsport, MD. 

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Jody Forsyth (Clipp) Hicks; daughter Nicole Magaw (Hicks) and her husband Christopher of Smithsburg, MD; stepson Jacob Clipp and his wife Leah of Hagerstown, MD; stepson Joshua Clipp and his wife Allison of Hagerstown, MD; stepson Jared Clipp of Hagerstown, MD; brother Michael Hicks and his wife Karen of Indiana, PA; grandchildren Jaxson, Blake, Rylee, Janson, Hayden, and 1 on the way; aunt Kay Lowmaster of Pittsburgh, PA; nephew Jesse Hicks and his wife Ashley of Myrtle Beach, SC; niece Valerie Hicks of Trafford, PA; brother friend Brian Contrucci of Pinehurst, NC. 

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his uncle Dennis Lowmaster. 

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
