E. Catherine Burner

Bay Saint Louis, MS – E. Catherine Burner, 74, formerly of Hagerstown, MD and Florida passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home.

She was born on August 29, 1948, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Cecil Marion and Carrie Henrietta (Stover) Lynn.

Catherine was a 1966 graduate of North Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.

She was employed by Verizon for 36 years, until retiring in 2002.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

Catherine was a member of AARP, National Telephone Pioneers, and Elks Lodge #2710 in Florida.

She held various offices including President of Hagerstown Jaycee Women.  Catherine was a National winner for Jaycee’s Ten Outstanding Young Marylanders Program.  She was also the Executive Director of the Miss Washington County Pageant for many years.  She received numerous recognitions from various organizations she was involved in. 

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Myers of Bay Saint Louis, MS; brothers Woody Lynn and Mickey Lynn both of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughter Megan A. Myers of Hagerstown, MD.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 6:00 -8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 1:00 pm on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kim Nunberg officiating.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery Hagerstown, MD.
