Sharpsburg, MD – Edward Rickard, 79, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home.
He was born on May 10, 1942 in Funkstown, MD to the late Virginia Custer.
He was employed by United Masonry in Virginia until his retirement in 2002. He was previously employed by Bragunier Masonry Contractors.
Edward was a Private Second Class in the United States Army National Guard.
He was a lifetime member of Williamsport Rescue Squad; member of IORM Tribe #84 of Williamsport, MD, and an active member with the Mountain Mafia Car Shows.
Edward enjoyed deer hunting.
He was extremely proud of his son Jason for becoming a Maryland State Trooper.
He is survived by his wife Debra Marie (Jackson) Rickard whom he married on January 13, 1973; son Jason Rickard and his girlfriend Stephanie of Hagerstown, MD; brother David Cook of Falling Waters, WV; sister Marge Cook of Falling Waters, WV.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his Aunt and Uncle Marie and William Davis who raised him. He was also predeceased by his sister Naomi Arvin.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 11:00 am on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Kevin Smoot officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD.
