Williamsport, MD – Elissa Ellen “Lisa” Slayman, 82, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Williamsport Retirement Center in Williamsport, MD surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 20, 1940, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Warren Mitchell Jr. and Ruby Mae (Gower) Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Warren Slayman in 2019.
Lisa was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD. She also graduated from Shepherd College, studying Business for 4 years.
She was previously employed by Southern Railway as an IBM Computer Programmer. She was also previously employed by Potomac Edison Company until resigning to raise her family.
She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD. She volunteered for 25 plus years as a Sunday School Teacher for the 4-5 age group at Williamsport United Methodist Church.
Lisa volunteered as a Playground Aide at the Williamsport Elementary School during the 80’s.
She answered and dispatched for the Williamsport Volunteer Ambulance and Williamsport Volunteer Fire Companies in the 1960’s and 1970’s from her home. She was very involved in helping to raise funds to help support Fire & EMS.
Lisa was the Chairwoman of the Williamsport C&O Canal Days from 1977-2005.
She is survived by her daughter Angela “Angie” E. Fulton and her husband Steven of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Gretchen M. Bridendolph and her husband Nathan of Manlius, NY; grandson Mitchell Steven Fulton at home; granddaughter Alison Ellen Fulton at home; grandson Gavin Mark Hays at home; granddaughter Lily Elizabeth Bridendolph at home; her beloved dog Toby.
She was predeceased by her son Warren Steven Slayman.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm with Kevin Smoot officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Monday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
