Ernest William "Ernie" Foltz, Sr.

Falling Waters, WV – Ernest William “Ernie” Foltz, Sr., 83, of Falling Waters, WV passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at his home.

He was born on October 19, 1939, in Hancock, Maryland to the late Raymond Edward and Nora Lee (Hensley) Foltz.

Ernie was a 1958 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Acme Grocery Stores in Hagerstown, Martinsburg, and Winchester for 38 years until his retirement.  He previously drove a bus for the Human Development Council of Hagerstown, MD and previously volunteered at Western Enterprise Station 4 in Hagerstown.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

Ernie was previously a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #212 Hagerstown, MD and Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.

Early in his life he enjoyed karate, fishing, and hunting. 

He is survived by his wife Judith Irene “Judy” (Schildtknecht) Foltz whom he married on June 8, 1987; daughter Tina M.A. Tudor and her husband Brian of Berkeley Springs, WV; son Ernest W. “Petey” Foltz, Jr. and his wife Julie Swan Foltz of Falling Waters, WV; stepsons Robert Thomas, Jr., Michael Thomas, James Thomas, and Phillip Thomas all of Hagerstown, MD; sisters Vivian Kay Enderle and Carolyn J. Knode both of Hagerstown, MD; brothers Raymond E. Foltz of Hagerstown, MD and Paul E. Foltz of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren Christina Mae Martin, Samantha Blair Foltz Santa Maria, Charlotte Dillon, and Chelci Foltz McKinney; 13 step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter Wendy Michele Foltz; sister Kathleen Garner; nephew Richard Fogle, II.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastoring Couple John and Melissa Miller officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
