Leitersburg, MD – Eugene Richard Keadle, 91, of Leitersburg, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Fahrney Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, MD.

 

He was born on November 7, 1929 in Waynesboro, PA to the late John Lloyd and Mary Taylor Keadle.

 

He was employed by Mack Trucks, Inc. in Hagerstown, MD until his retirement.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.

 

He previously attended Leitersburg Lutheran Church in Leitersburg, MD.

 

Eugene was the Past President of Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Company; Past President of the Leitersburg Ruritan; member of Morris Frock American Legion Post #42 Hagerstown, MD.

 

He is survived by his wife Mary Nedine (Robinson) Keadle whom he married on October 6, 1950; son Richard W. Keadle and his wife Wanda of Greencastle, PA; daughter M. Jeannette Morris and her husband Michael of Centreville, VA; sister Shirley Varner; 3 grandchildren.

 

He was predeceased by a granddaughter Christina A. Keadle; sister Josephine Desong; brother Jack Keadle; half brother Charles Taylor.

 

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

Eugene R. Keadle was a true hero of America's forgotten victory- the Korean War. Though not a member of Antietam  Chapter 312 Korean War Veterans Association, nevertheless we veterans condole with you ln your loss..
