Williamsport, MD – Frances Walters Wolford, 91, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 at her home.
She was born on March 27, 1929 in Martinsburg, WV to the late George Benton and Gladys May Boltz Walters.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edison Wolford on January 16, 2008.
She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and attended Strayer University.
She was employed by the State of Maryland Unemployment Office in Hagerstown, MD until her retirement. She was previously employed by Capital Cement in Martinsburg, WV.
She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Williamsport, MD where she was very active for many years.
Frances was previously President of the Heritage Garden Club and a member of the Women’s Club.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey “Gregg” Wolford and his wife Crystal of Williamsport, MD; granddaughters Amanda Gogan and her husband Sean, Naomi M. Wolford, Holly N. Entler and her husband Mike, Abigail R. England, and Sarah E. England; great grandchildren Calvin, Lenore, Everett, Luna, Isabel, Oliver, and Jude; cousin Beverly Helmick.
A graveside service will be held at Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery 8854 Tuscarora Pike Martinsburg, WV on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark A. Sandell officiating. The family request masks and social distancing at the graveside service.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church 10813 Donelson Drive Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark A. Sandell officiating.
