Franklin Delano Roosevelt Malott, Jr., 66, of Williamsport, MD, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 22, 1955 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Franklin D.R. Malott, Sr. and the late Mary Jane (Davis) Malott.
He was a graduate of Williamsport High School in 1973 where he was a gifted High School athlete, earning Varsity letters in Soccer and Basketball. He was active in Student Government and was a member of the Williamsport High School Blue Band.
Frank was a Life Member of the Potomac Fish & Game Club for 45 years, serving on the Board of Directors and as Director of Security for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time at his place along the Potomac River boating, fishing, and lending a helping hand whenever needed. He was also a Life Member at the Williamsport Redmen.
Frankie, as he was lovingly called by many, was an avid sports fan and followed Penn State Football traveling to 14 stadiums in the Big Ten Conference supporting Nittany Lions Football.
He was employed with United Parcel Service for over 31 years, retiring in May 2011 after driving a career accomplishment of 1,328,255 miles and delivering 917,367 packages. Frank was well known and respected by his customers and fellow UPSers for his professionalism and desire to always “do the right thing.” His outstanding service and safe driving accomplishments earned him a place in the prestigious Circle of Honor.
He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his father, Franklin D.R. Malott, Sr., he is survived by his wife and life companion of over 50 years, Carol Ann (Butler) Malott whom he married on September 16, 1978, 2 daughters Erin Leigh Malott McCoy (Aaron) of Williamsport, MD, Emily Bennett Malott (Keith King) of Halfway, MD, 2 grandchildren, Addison Leigh McCoy, of Williamsport, MD and Bennett Ryan Henesy, of Halfway, MD, one sister, Pamela Chrisman (Terry) of Bethany Beach, DE, and one brother Phillip Malott (Robin) of Latrobe, PA, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Malott, of Williamsport, MD.
A memorial service will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Mark Davis officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
