Williamsport, MD – Franklin Herbert Wasson, 87, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Julia Manor Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on December 3, 1932 in Hedgesville, West Virginia to the late John D. and Olive V. “Biddie” McCarty Wasson.
Franklin was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War.
He was employed with General Motors for 25 years until retiring in 1993.
He was of the Presbyterian Faith.
He was a member of the Potomac Post #202 American Legion in Williamsport, MD and served as a Past Commander. He was also a member of Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.
Franklin was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan and used to travel to Florida to attend Spring Training.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Jeanne M. Rider Morgan Wasson; daughter Robin L. Kilmer and her husband Mike of Falling Waters, WV; granddaughter April R. Wasson of Augusta, WV; granddaughter Jessica M. Kilmer of Falling Waters, WV; grandson G. Brooks Kilmer of Falling Waters, WV; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Terry W. Wasson, grandson Jeremy L. Wasson, 9 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Burial and services will be private.
