Sharpsburg, MD – Gregory Allen Morris, Sr., 64, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on July 5, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD to Mina Azelia Sweeney Morris-Hege of Hagerstown, MD and the late Wilbur Lee Morris.
Gregory was a 1972 graduate of Boonsboro High School Boonsboro, MD.
He was employed by Beaver Mechanical Contractors of Hagerstown, MD for 32 years as a Plumber until his retirement.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
He was a past member of IORM Conococheague Tribe #84 Williamsport, MD.
Gregory enjoyed playing shuffleboard at Pete’s Tavern and spending time with his family and his Friday morning breakfast with his friend Gene Grim at the Red Byrd in Keedysville, MD.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Sue “Becky” Griffith Morris whom he married on December 15, 1973; son Gregory A. Morris, Jr. and his wife Bobbi of Sharpsburg, MD; daughter Deanna D. Morris of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Celeste M. Morris and fiance’ Douglas S. Gamby, Sr. of Sharpsburg, MD; sister Tina M. Palmer of Utah; brother Darrin T. Morris of Hagerstown, MD; brother Bradley D. Morris of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren Caitlyn A. Morris, Donavan J. Taylor, Darius J. Taylor, Blaine G. Morris, Ray D. Becks, Ariana R.M. Morris, Douglas S. Gamby, Jr., and Magdalene M. Gamby; his faithful companion “Bear” who is a chow/german shepherd mix.
He was predeceased by a brother Gary L. Morris and his beloved grandfather Charles T. Sweeney.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery Sharpsburg, MD.
