Williamsport, MD – Gregory Lynn Shank, 69, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Doey’s House Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on May 15, 1949 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Hollyday B. and Doris June Holland Shank.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jean Anderson Shank in 2016.
He was a 1967 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.
Greg was employed as an Executive Staff Engineer with Volvo Group Trucks Technology of Hagerstown, MD.
He was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church Williamsport, MD.
He was also a member Williamsport Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, IORM Tribe #84 Williamsport, MD, Washington County Parks & Recreation Board, and a past member of the Washington County Gaming Commission.
He was inducted into the Washington County Sports Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Washington County Flag Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
A lifelong resident of Washington County, Greg was dedicated to his family, friends, employer, and the community at large.
Greg loved the towpath and many other local parks where he exercised and socialized regularly.
He is survived by his daughter Michelle S. McCullough and her husband Christopher of Fallston, MD; mother and father in law John and Peggy Anderson of Williamsport, MD; brother Rick Shank and his wife Cindy of Halfway, MD; grandson Rory McCullough of Fallston, MD; granddaughter Connie McCullough of Fallston, MD; granddaughter Lindsey McCullough of Fallston, MD.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church 32 E. Potomac St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 12:00 (noon) with Monsignor Richard J. Murphy celebrant. Interment will be private.
A celebration of life will be held at Springfield Barn on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
