Hagerstown, MD – Harry Horine Hose, 89, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on January 23, 1934, in Williamsport, MD to the late Earl Franklin and Hazel Irene (Sharer) Hose.
Harry was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD. After high school, he was an Assistant Manager at Grant’s.
Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a highly classified military policeman where he trained in several places in the U.S. Before heading to Eniwetok Proving Ground in the South Pacific to guard scientists and bombs.
He worked at Wilcraft Hosiery as a Manager before retiring from Certain Teed in 1999.
He was a member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren Hagerstown, MD, and a former member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church where he was active for many years. He also enjoyed the church bowling league.
Harry was an active walker and weightlifter all his life. He liked to play dominoes with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Marybelle (Wise) Bupp Hose whom he married March 15, 1980; son Curtis Hose and his wife Marie of Walkersville, MD; daughter Debra A. Keefer and her husband George of Williamsport, MD; son Steve Bupp and his wife Cheryl of Roswell, GA; foster son Michael Farris and his wife Karen of Spring Ridge, SC; brother Paul Hose; grandchildren Paul, Matt, Kevin, Michael, Chris, David, and Emma; 6 great grandchildren; special friends Shannon and Angie Peters; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Treva (Landis) Hose; brothers Sylvester, Alvey, and Clyde Hose; sisters Stella Sacrey and Henrietta Weller.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 11:30 am with Pastor Gabe Dodd officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:30 am on Thursday prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD. Military honors will be provided by the Joint Veterans Council and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
