Helen Virginia Abbott

Hagerstown, MD – Helen Virginia Abbott, 98, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Tilghmanton, MD passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on October 26, 1921 in Luray, Virginia to the late Albin Dearing and Anna Chaddick Kibler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Abbott on August 27, 2019.

Helen was previously employed by L’Aiglon of Hagerstown, MD as a Seamstress.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church Bakersville, MD.

Helen spent her entire life devoted to the care of her beloved son Emmett Edwin Abbott until his death in 2010.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her brother in law Homer S. Abbott of Hagerstown, MD; numerous nieces and nephew; special nephew Leon Abbott of Hagerstown, MD.

Besides her husband and son she was predeceased by five sisters Katie Seal, Della Mae Manuel, Thelma Abbott, Anna Nichols and Vivian Smith; three brothers Willis Kibler, Lynwood Kibler and Charles Kibler.

Entombment will be private.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
