Helen Virginia "Jenny" Ayers

Helen Virginia “Jenny” Ayers, 88, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on November 24, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD to the late George W. Sr. and Betty F. Davis Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon W. Ayers in 2005.

Jenny was employed by the Washington County Courthouse as a Cook until her retirement in 1996.  She tended Bar at various establishments in the Hagerstown Area for many years.

She was of the Catholic Faith.

Jenny is survived by her son Robert L. Ayers and his wife Kay of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Peggy L. Miller and her husband Joe of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Tina M. Koons of Falling Waters, WV; granddaughter whom she raised Helen Johnson of Hagerstown, MD; brother George Jones of Hagerstown, MD; brother Ronald Lee Jones of Hagerstown, MD; 10 grandchildren; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter Imogene Knode; sisters Betty Jane Shupp, Lois Palmer, and Ella May Perrell; brothers William Jones and George W. Jones, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
