James Gregory "Greg" Cody

Hagerstown, MD – James Gregory “Greg” Cody, 66, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on July 9, 1957, in Clintwood, Virginia to the late James Robert and Helen Loretta Rose Cody.

He was a 1975 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, MD.

Greg was the Superintendent of Morgan and Keller until his retirement in 2023.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church in Haysi, VA.

Greg was a master woodworker and craftsman who made various pieces of furniture.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, antiquing, auctions, and antique hand tools.

He is survived by his wife Stacy Turner-Cody; son Nathan Cody and his wife Sheri of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Jessica Neal and her husband Bryan of Knoxville, MD; stepdaughter Janel Shadoan and her husband Jeff of Hedgesville, WV; stepdaughter Brienna Kavelaris and her husband Mat of Atwater, OH; stepson Zachary Kenney of Greencastle, PA; sister Vanessa Orrison and her husband Doug of Middletown, MD; grandchildren Jackson, Zachary, Jake, Ethan, Isabella, Kirsten, Malkin, Jasmine, and Memphis; great granddaughter Marilyn; numerous nieces and nephews; and all of his friends at Morgan Keller.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Shirley Cody.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 6:00 -8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 12:00 pm (noon) on Monday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 11:00 am with David Hershey officiating.  Interment will be in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD.  Military honors will be provided by the Joint Veterans Council and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
