James William Grubbs

Hagerstown, MD-James William Grubbs, 87 of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday July 13,2021 at Sterling Care in Boonsboro, MD.

Born in Keyser, WV on January 2, 1934, he was the son of the late James Vernon and Mildred Virginia Broome Grubbs.

He was a graduate of Keyser High School and received his bachelor’s degree in education from Shepherd College.

He served in the United States Air Force during Korea.

James worked at Keystone Ford in Greencastle and retired in 1991 from IBM in Hagerstown, MD.  He was a member at Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD where he sang in the choir.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ann G. Grubbs, a daughter Barbara A. Vincent of Hagerstown, MD, a daughter Susan V. Grubbs of East Waterford, PA, a son James V. Grubbs and his wife Mary Ann of Hagerstown, MD, a son Clyde W. Grubbs and his wife Pamela of Upton, PA, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Jaqueline Bosley.

The family will receive friends on Sunday July 18,2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Sunday at 12 noon.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 19,2021 at 11:00am at Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD with Rev. Bill McPherson officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD with military honors provided by the Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.
