Janet J. Palmer

Williamsport, MD – Janet J. Palmer, 83, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday September 17, 2022, at her home.

She was born on October 10, 1938, in Logan County, WV to the late Joseph and Frances Lankas.

Janet graduated as the salutatorian from Man High School in Man, WV in 1956 and attended technical school in Philadelphia, PA. She then landed in Hagerstown, MD working for the Washington County Hospital as a lab technician until her retirement in 2001.

She was a Christian and attended St. Augustine Catholic Church for many years.

She loved her family, watching old movies, taking care of her roses, and feeding the birds. She cared for and loved her favorite dog, Winston. She also loved the ocean, especially Cape May, New Jersey and looking through her telescope at the beautiful night sky.

She is survived by a son Raymond D. Palmer II of Williamsport, MD; daughter Diana Sullivan and her husband James of Minot, ME; daughter Cynthia Piper and her husband Mitchell of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren Hannah Sullivan, Isaac Sullivan, and Bryce Piper; sister, Betty Antrim of Kettering, OH; and brother Thomas Lankas of Lorado, WV.

She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond David Palmer I as well as 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Sunday September 25, 2022, at 11:00 am with Kevin Smoot officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 am ­– 11:00 am.
