Jean Noble led a long and full life. She was a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs secretarial school in New York City. She was working for Revere Ware in New York on V-J Day in 1945, and ran out into the street to celebrate. She later moved to Ithaca NY where she was secretary to a dean at Cornell University. There she met her husband. After they married they moved to Bethesda, Maryland, and raised three successful children.
Jean was very active in her church, Bethesda United Church of Christ, where she was a founding member. She was also a volunteer with the Literacy Council of Montgomery County. She was a young 63 when her husband died and she began travelling all over the world. When she was 85 she moved to Homewood in Williamsport.
Jean enjoyed her many friends, her beloved cat, Kate, her children and grandchild, reading, and playing games.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Literacy Council of Montgomery County, Maryland
