Jean Marie Joe

Hagerstown, MD – Jean Marie Joe, 81, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on January 20, 1940 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Ernest and Margaret Barnhart Bowers.

She attended South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.

Jean worked in retail most of her life until retiring. 

She was of the Christian Faith.

She was a member of Local #692 Retail Clerks Association.

Jean is survived by her husband of over 50 years Arthur B. Joe; son Curtis Hovis of Smithsburg, MD; son Michael Hovis of Hollywood, FL; son Kevin Joe of Hedgesville, WV; sister Mary Ann Miller of Hagerstown, MD; sister Judy Shaffer of Chambersburg, PA; sister Beverly Fogle of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son Jeff Hovis and a sister Carol Howard.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim Shirley officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
