Joel Michael Benchoff passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2021 at the age of 39 in Williamsport, Maryland. Family will be receiving friends and family at the Hub City Vineyard Church on Saturday, October 2nd from 4 to 6 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Ebersole Field in Byron Memorial Park, Williamsport at 6:30 pm.
Joel was born to Patricia and Gary Benchoff of Williamsport, Maryland. He graduated from Williamsport High School and attended Onondaga Community College and Union University in Tennessee where he played baseball. Joel will be remembered for his charismatic smile and welcoming personality which made everyone feel like they were a part of the family. He was a talented carpenter and builder. Joel enjoyed giving back to the community through coaching little league baseball. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, camping, canoeing and golfing. He loved playing his guitar by a fire and performing his own songs for his friends and family.
Joel is survived by his children, Susanna Lynn (9), Ray Michael (7) , and Rose Katherine Benchoff (6); brothers and sisters, Donovan Kershner, Justin Kershner (Annie), Jessica Schlotterbeck (Chris), Aaron Benchoff (Kass), Luke Benchoff, Jacob Benchoff (Nicole), Caleb Benchoff and 20 neices/nephews.
Joel is preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Gladhill.
