John Stuart Ferry

 Fairplay, MD – John Stuart Ferry, 91, of Fairplay, MD passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his home.

He was born on January 26, 1929 in Fort Loudon, PA to the late Fred David and Edythe Nettie Funk Ferry.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lovess Lucy (Davis) Ferry on August 18, 2003.

He attended Leamasters High School Leamaster, PA.

John was employed by Grove Manufacturing of Shady Grove, PA for many years until his retirement in 1990. Prior to Grove he was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot for many years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

John enjoyed having coffee with his friends at AC&T everyday.

He was a member of Disabled American Veterans since 1986.  He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club; charter member of the Washington County Antique Tractor Club; Potomac Post #202 American Legion Williamsport, MD; member of the Fairplay Volunteer Fire Company for many years; Volunteer Fire Police for Washington County and served in Washington County for over 30 years in the fire service.

He is survived by his daughters Kristine Y. Snow of Alton Bay, NH; daughter Barbara D. Hill and her husband Stephen of Garland, TX; brother Earl R. Ferry and his wife Doris of Chambersburg, PA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters LuRae Saum, Joyce Ferry, and Sue Fox.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Kim Nunberg officiating.
