Johnny Lee Bussard

Boonsboro, MD – Johnny Lee Bussard, 81, of Boonsboro, MD went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.

Born on a farm near Sharpsburg, MD on February 23, 1939 he was the son of the late James William “Bill” and Mary Ellen Crampton Bussard.

He lived in Sharpsburg, MD until 1965 when he moved to his present home near Boonsboro, MD.

He was a 1957 graduate of Boonsboro High School Boonsboro, MD.

He worked as an appliance repairman for Holzapfel and Firey and Ebersole’s Plumbing and Appliance.  He retired from Columbia Gas of Hagerstown in 1997.

He was a well-known fiddler and played in many bands over the years.  He started playing music at the age of 14 years old.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church Rohrersville, MD.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Hazel I. “Skeeter” Armel Bussard; son Michael L. Bussard and his wife Stephanie of Sharpsburg, MD; son Joel L. Bussard and his wife Angela of Shady Grove, PA; stepson Milton G. Stover and his wife Rebekah of Inwood, WV; stepdaughter Linda D. Stover of Martinsburg, WV; stepdaughter Kathy L. Moquin of Martinsburg, WV; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased in death by a son Lynn Johnny Bussard, daughter Amy Sue Ryan, 2 infant brothers, and brother Gene F. Bussard.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 12:00 (noon) with Pastor Mark Waldron officiating.  The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 (noon).  Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery Sharpsburg, MD.
