Hagerstown, MD – Jon Edward Williams, 71, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on October 16, 1946 in Frederick, MD to the late Howard Lee Sr. and Mary Lepley Cook Williams.
Jon was a 1964 graduate of Glenelg High School. He also attended the Seminary.
He was a man of prayer, deeply devoted to growing in his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His passion was reading, studying and sharing God’s word.
He was an auto mechanic and an Automotive Technology Instructor at Brunswick High School until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter Lynn Michelle Bairrington of LaPorte, TX; daughter Melissa Williams Hilton of Boyds, MD; son Jason Erik Williams and his wife Dr. Jessica H. Williams of Hoover, Alabama;seven grandchildren; brother Howard Williams and his wife Dorothy of Williamsport, MD; sister in law Pat Williams of Williamsport, MD.
He was predeceased by a sister Ida Etchison and a brother Ronald Williams, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church 35 W. Potomac St. Williamsport, MD on
Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
