Joseph Burkey, Jr. and Dolores Marie Helman

Hagerstown, Maryland- Joseph Burkey Helman, Jr., 77 of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday January 15, 2021 at his home and Dolores Marie Helman, 77 of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Monday January 18, 2021 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.  They were married on October 1, 1965.

Mr. Helman was born in Rockville, MD on September 1, 1943 to the late Joseph Burkey, Sr. and Sarah Esther Harr Helman and he retired as a truck driver with Ray-Loc in Hancock, MD in 2019.  Mrs. Helman was born in Morgantown, WV on January 29, 1943 to the late John Henry and Norena Mayle Trimble.  She was also a 1961 graduate of Morgantown High School and was a homemaker.

They are survived by their sons J. Mike Helman of Hagerstown, MD, David J. Helman and his wife Whitney of Las Vegas, NV and Chris S. Helman of Hagerstown, MD, granddaughter Devan Helman and grandsons Bradley Helman, Damien Helman and Cole Helman.  Mrs. Helman is also survived by a sister Pat Brown of Owings Mills, MD and brothers Frank Trimble of Rockville, MD, Howard Trimble of Morgantown, WV and Dale Trimble of Detroit, MI.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday January 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Saturday at 12 noon.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date and burial is private.
