Judy Maedene Hunt, 70, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday February 15, 2021 at Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina. She was born on April 23, 1950 in Berkley Springs, West Virginia to the late George Swain & Margaret McCusker Swain Mehaffey.
Along with her parents, Judy is reunited in passing with her brother, Larry J. Burton, a sister, Dixie Montgomery, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Libby" Swain, and a cousin, Wanda Lowrey.
Judy proudly served our country in the United States Army then went on to graduate from Troy University. She was honorably discharged and continued to work for the Federal Government for several years. Following her well-deserved retirement from Civil Service in Ft. Detrick, Judy was able to enjoy the finer things in life. She relished spending time with her friends and making memories with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Judy’s memory are her son, John R. Hunt, III, of Galivants Ferry; daughters, Suzette (Rapp) Clark of Galivants Ferry & Amber Weisenmiller of Hagerstown, MD; her adoring grandchildren, Ryan, Johnie and wife Cheyenne, Daycotah (CoCo), Maedene, Chelsey and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Blakley & Jaxson; brothers, David Swain of Hagerstown, MD & Kelly (Teresa) Swain also of Hagerstown, MD; her sister-in-law, Susie Burton of Camp, AR, her longtime best friend, Kay Palmer; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Judy’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021 at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD 21795 with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
