Karen Sue Kelley

Martinsburg, WV – Karen Sue Kelley, 64, of Martinsburg, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2022.  She passed away at Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, WV.

She was born on August 10, 1958, in Charles Town, WV to the late Virgil Leonard and Betty Lorraine (Frye) Maphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward “Jumbo” Kelley, Jr. on April 23, 2014.

She was a 1976 graduate of Jefferson High School.  She graduated from Hagerstown Junior College with a Business Certificate.  She also attended Shepherd College.

Karen previously was employed with Rotorex in Walkersville, MD and prior to that was employed with EJ Fennell in Hagerstown, MD.

She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD.  She helped with the card Ministry.

Karen enjoyed her many friends who supported her and helped take care of her, especially her Church family. 

Anyone who knew Karen also knew she was a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan.

She is survived by her sister Barbara Gail Meyers of Charles Town, WV; brother Kevin Maphis of Berkeley Springs, WV; Aunt Ruth R. Burke of Clearbrook, VA; Aunt Mary Ellen Maphis of Winchester, VA; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In her later years, her pet dog “Harvey” was a great comfort to her before his passing in late 2019.

A memorial service will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 11:00 am with Kevin Smoot officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
