Lana Lynn Shawley

Fairplay, MD – Lana Lynn Shawley, 61, of Fairplay, MD, passed away surrounded by her family, Sunday March 28, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born May 7, 1959 in Hagerstown, MD she was the daughter of Betty (Neal) Long of Boonsboro, MD and the late Robert Long, Sr.

Besides her mother she is survived by her husband of 38 years, William “Bill” Shawley, Sr.; her brother and his wife, Robert and Lana Long, II of Williamsport, MD; son William Shawley, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Hagerstown, MD; son Robert Shawley and his wife Lindsay of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren William III, Shelby, Lydia, Benjamin, the late Bristol Lynn, and one grandchild due in September.

She graduated from North Hagerstown High School, class of 1977.  Lana enjoyed time with a close-knit group of girls she graduated with: The W.E.E.D.A.S.

Lana worked 25 years as a buyer for a local welding supply company.  After retirement Lana spent time taking care of her grandbabies whom she loved with all her heart.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, MD.

Lana was a bright light in her community, a warm smile, a beautiful soul and always thinking of others.  She had a strong faith and always believed in the grace of God.  She loved antiquing and travel with her husband.  She was always spending time with family and friends making memories.

The family will receive friends and family at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday April 7, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

A private celebration of Life will be held in honor of Lana at a later date.
