Hagerstown, MD – Laura Anne Smith, 75, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

 

She was born on December 9, 1945 in Leitersburg, MD to the late Roy Robert Valentine and Mary Katherine Marshall.

 

She was a 1963 graduate of South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.

 

Laura was employed by Maryland Correctional Institute in Hagerstown, MD for 27 years until her retirement.

 

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, MD.

 

She was a member of the Elks Lodge #378 of Hagerstown, MD where she served as the Bingo Chairman of the Bingo Committee.

 

Laura loved Bingo, her dog Katie, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins, and Baltimore Ravens.

 

She is survived by her son Todd A. Smith, Sr. and his wife Karen L. of Martinsburg, WV; son Scott P. Smith of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughter Whitney Smith of Hagerstown, MD; granddaughter Gabriella Smith of Hagerstown, MD; grandson Tyler Smith of Hawaii; grandson Bradley Smith and his wife Skye of Hagerstown, MD; grandson Todd A. Smith, Jr. and his fiancee’ Brittany of Hagerstown, MD; grandson Christopher Smith and his fiancee’ Kenzie of Hagerstown, MD; 8 great grandchildren; brother Wesley Morgan of GA; ex-husband Charles L. Smith of Hagerstown, MD.

 

She was predeceased by her brother Jimmy Morgan.

 

The family will receive friends at the Elks Lodge #378 Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 12:00 (noon) -2:00 pm.
