Lawrence Eugene “Larry” Thomas, 65, of Falling Waters, WV went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on September 25, 1958, in Hagerstown, MD to the late William Russell Thomas, Sr. and Joyce Cecilia (Cole) Rankin.
Larry graduated from South Hagerstown High School and then joined the United States Navy. He was later employed by the Hub Group in Shippensburg, PA as a truck driver until his retirement.
Larry was an avid guitar player and enjoyed music. He loved playing the electric guitar with his best friend, Rich. Larry enjoyed being outdoors, doing yard work, craftsman work, and watching Nascar. He played various sports as a young adult and boxing was his all time favorite. Larry will be forever known for doing anything anyone asked of him, never complaining, always being there for his family and friends.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 41 years Linda Kay Thomas of Falling Waters, WV; daughter Jamie Sue Campbell of Falling Waters, WV and son-in-law James Campbell of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Cassie Nicole Acre and her husband Ryan of Williamsport, MD; brother William Russell “Bill” Thomas, Jr. and his wife Karen of Hagerstown, MD; brother Brian Toms and Roger Mills of Fairplay, MD; brother Tim Thomas and wife Maria of Texas; sister April Small and her husband Cody of Waynesboro, PA; sister Kathleen Langlinais of Texas; six grandchildren Kaliyah Campbell, Aliviah Campbell, Asher Campbell, Ryan Acre, Jr., Bryce Acre, and Mason Acre; sister-in-law Diana Thomas of PA; Aunt Joann Palmer of Hagerstown, MD; Uncle Gerald Cole of Hagerstown, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Cathy Jean Gipe and Judy Thomas; brother-in-law James “Jimmy” Brechbill, Jr.; mother and father in-law Susan Linda Brechbill and James Norman Brechbill, Sr.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Panhandle for their incredible care and support. They truly went above and beyond to make sure Larry was comfortable and cared for in his last days on earth.
