Funkstown, MD – Leonard Leroy Dorsey, 83, of Funkstown, MD passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. He was a loving husband, father, and family man.
He was born on July 5, 1938 in Downsville, Maryland to the late Frederick Leroy and Florence May Moats Dorsey.
He was a 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD.
Leonard was employed by Cushwa Redland Brick Company in Williamsport, MD for 30 years until his retirement in 2004.
He was a member of Downsville Church of the Brethren Downsville, MD.
He was also a member of Teamsters Local #992.
Earlier in his life he enjoyed raising and showing horses. He was an avid Nascar Fan.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Susan S. Pry Dorsey; daughter Jennifer S. Baker of Martinsburg, WV; granddaughter Lititia Butts of Baltimore, MD; sister Dorothy J. Shank of Falling Waters, WV; close friend William Collins of Hagerstown, MD; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters May E. Stumbaugh and Betty L. Wampler.
Services and burial will be private.
