Margie Ellen Farley

Williamsport, MD – Margie Ellen Farley, 90, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on November 2, 1930 in Williamsport, MD to the late Sanford Charles and Margie Estella Sprecher Gossard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowery Eugene “Gene” Farley on November 10, 2017.

Margie was a 1948 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD.

She was a Homemaker.

She was a member of Martinsburg Primitive Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV.

Margie was a former member of Williamsport Lions Club and was the first non Lions Club member to win the Melvin Jones Award; past member of Potomac Post #202 American Legion Auxiliary in Williamsport, MD.

She was the last of 7 children.

She is survived by her daughter Debra E. Johnson of Shenandoah Junction, WV; son Larry G. Farley and his wife Stephanie of Hagerstown, MD; son Billy J. Farley of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Dayna Elliott of Martinsburg, WV, Toby Johnson of Inwood, WV, Joshua Farley of Fairplay, MD, and Jake Farley of Hagerstown, MD; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Gary D. Farley; brothers Charles “Tuck” Gossard and John T. Gossard; sisters Amanda Bowers, Mary Mumma, Martha Delauder, and Dorthea Keadle.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 am with Elder Gary Utz and Elder John Nichols officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
