P. Lowell Fox

Hagerstown, MD – P. Lowell Fox, 82, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on January 16, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Eston Funk and Ethel Josephine Snyder Fox.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Jane (Mills) Fox on December 19, 2017 whom he was married to for 61 years.

He was a 1956 graduate of Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.

Lowell was the owner/operator of P.L. Fox Excavating for more than 50 years. During that period, he dug graves for Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport for many years.

He was a member of Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.

Lowell loved gardening, listening to country music, watching old movies, being on his tractor, and riding his scooter. He especially loved drinking coffee with his close friends every day.

He is survived by his daughter Kendra S. Baer and her husband Todd of Hagerstown, MD; son Phillip L. Fox, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Hagerstown, MD; sister C. Linda White and her husband Ronnie of Hagerstown, MD; two sister in laws Frances Fox and Joyce Fox; grandchildren Indy Baer, Sophia Baer, Phillip Fox, Heather Starleper, Christopher Fox, and Roland Garde; great grandchildren Carter and Molly; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Suzanne Lynn Fox; son James Allen “Jimmy” Fox and his wife Peggy; sister Mary (Fox) Metz and her husband Paul “Buzz”; brother Gary Fox; brother Nelson Fox.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Burial services will be private at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
